A Night under the Stars focuses on awareness

The Estella Scott-Roberts Foundation has been doing good deeds for four years. Now it’s time for a moment of remembrance and a night of fellowship.

The Estella Scott-Roberts Foundation will hold its awareness event “A Night under the Stars” at Sunset Bay, 500 Old Prospect Road, on Saturday, 13 October. There will be entertainment, wine, food and a moment of remembrance as the foundation presents to supporters what it has achieved over the past year.

The foundation was created on 31 October, 2008, and therefore October 2012 marks its fourth year as an established licensed, nonprofit company in the Cayman Islands. The objectives of this organisation are as follows:

To advocate for a life free of violence for all

To carry out activities to facilitate the empowerment of women, men and children

To advocate for and support equality for women and girls in all areas of life

To support policies and research projects that further the aim of gender equality

To do all other acts or things necessary, advisable or desirable for the advancement of women’s issues

The night begins at 8pm and tickets can be purchased at the door, or in advance from any LIME store, one of the foundation’s sponsors. The tickets are $35 each and all attendees are automatically entered to win an Apple iPhone.

Music and live artistry are planned to keep people entertained throughout the evening, and there will also be a wine tasting. Remembrance lanterns will be lit to recognise the amazing work of Estella Scott-Roberts, and a silent auction featuring many interesting items will be running throughout the evening. Those who arrive between 8 and 9pm will enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres.

A Night under the Stars has been created to bring together supporters of the foundation, and hopefully introduce newcomers to the work that it does. The only way to keep people aware is for the foundation to grow and get its message out through events such as this.
