The Cracked Conch Restaurant and Macabuca Oceanside Tiki Bar & Grill, located right on the waterfront in West Bay, give you a huge variety of party options for this year’s Christmas bash, with its sleek Soto Room for inside dining, seating 50 in fine style, and patio decks that enjoy ocean breezes and an unsurpassed panoramic ocean view. Their covered patio seats 120 and the outside deck can seat up to 80, suitably catering for big company parties or small soirees.
For a more intimate affair there’s the Bubble Lounge, the perfect place to meet and greet guests with a stunning cocktail or perhaps a glass of Champagne. Alternatively, if your party is heading towards the casual side, then the Macabuca bar area seats 100 will surely get guests into the flow straight away, with its stunning oceanside location just a stone’s throw from the water itself.
Head Chef, Gilbert Cavallaro is a brilliantly flexible chef who can create personalised menus to suit all sorts of parties. Sample Christmas menus entice all with delicious dishes such as vanilla pumpkin soup to start off with, perhaps followed by a light salad with Caesar dressing or a shrimp cocktail for seafood lovers.
If you are traditionally-minded you will no doubt then opt for the roast turkey with stuffing, cranberry chutney and gravy although fish lovers may well opt for the mahi mahi in a ginger bisque sauce.
All the usual veggie sides are on the menu, along with a selection of desserts. All this for just CI$35 per person.
If a buffet more suits your party needs, why not take a look at the wide variety of hot and cold canapés on offer? Chef Gilbert and his team can create delicacies such as lemon scented tuna tartar, scotch bonnet bruschetta or perhaps conch ceviche, or why not spice things up a bit with a hot selection which can include conch fritters with a jerk mayonnaise, curried fish cakes or of course, cracked conch with a curry tartar sauce. (Buffets are available for groups of 30 people or more.)
The Cracked Conch is also flexible when it comes to drink offerings, so no matter what your group’s wine or drinks preference, they can have it covered. Champagne, Fantinel Prosecco, Merlot and Chardonnay packages all abound, though it should be noted that the restaurant does not offer open bar packages. It also should be said that party options need to be ordered in advance, while the a la carte menus will be running daily as normal with Christmas specials. The restaurant will actually be closed for Christmas Day itself, but will have regular opening hours on 24 and 26 December.
Looking ahead to New Year’s Eve, The Cracked Conch is gearing itself for a party spectacular like no other, offering a top class buffet, an optional bottomless bubbles choice, dining under the stars and music at Macabuca (this year the restaurant has opted for a DJ). Tickets are CI$65 CI for food and only or CI$90 including bubbles (15 per cent gratuity is already included in these prices). To cap it all off, there will be fireworks at midnight on the ironshore.
And if you cannot wait until Christmas to get into the party spirit, The Cracked Conch has plenty to offer by way of entertainment and fine dining in the meantime, with an authentic Caribbean BBQ on Monday, for just CI$15 all you can eat and happy hour (to make you very happy indeed) all night long. On the weekend the restaurant offers Dine & Dance – dining at the restaurant and dancing to live bands on a Friday and Salsa nights with a DJ on Saturdays – all to get you well and truly in the swing for a very merry holiday season.
