Bearing a new standard for life on the water

The DeckHouses at Dragon Bay reframe the concepts of architecture and construction by channelling the passion, ingenuity and craftsmanship of traditional boatbuilding and applying them to the design of an island home.

The DeckHouses are on the sparkling Caribbean waters between The Ritz-Carlton on Seven Mile Beach and the North Sound, The DeckHouses incorporate an ingenious combination of appurtenances for living the by the sea, and living on the sea.
The units offer comfort, streamlined style and carefree luxury; essential components also found on grand custom yachts.
Within 7,000-square-feet of combined living space, The DeckHouses are structured with three levels – a main deck, with upper and lower decks – for entertaining family and friends surrounded by tropical winds and water.
Situated to maximise sea views, each of the 19 DeckHouses is separated by water and lush vegetation creating a uniquely secluded island property. An outdoor kitchen lays beyond the aft deck, convenient to the infinity edge swimming pool, a strand of private cove and beach and a private guest cottage. A boathouse is integrated into each home for convenience.
The entrance to your DeckHouse home quickly communicates the quality of materials and construction throughout. From the private gates of Peruvian mahogany shaded by rustic trellis beams of Guyana greenheart, the combination of meticulously crafted exotic hardwoods exudes cosmopolitan sophistication. 4100 square feet of Brazilian Ipe walkaround decks are introduced at the main entrance, providing both continuity and subtle nautical style with their custom Ipe capped rails at every level.

An oversized solid mahogany entry door opens to solid Ipe flooring with a compass rose inlay oriented to true north. The tray ceiling in the great room, or main salon, has tongue-and-groove Peruvian mahogany panelling with recessed up lights over the wraparound lifting slide doors. The open kitchen’s riches include Wolf, Sub-Zero, and Meile appliances and custom cabinetry with a discreet, yet generous butler’s pantry with service entrance for seamless catering efficiency.
The upper deck is a master stateroom suite with lifting slide doors framing long views, opening onto a deck 32 ½ feet above sea level. Adjacent are a library, a sitting room with custom dunnage-box-meets-banquette seating, and closets – all equipped with custom mahogany shelves and cabinetry. Master baths feature polished stone countertops, a large travertine walk-in shower with Kohler body jets and rain showerhead, and Jacuzzi freestanding tub in a custom cradle. Opening from the master bath is one of two slate outdoor showers with copper 12” rain showerheads.

The lower deck has two king and one double queen guest staterooms with generous baths and closets. The laundry room and additional storage provide a mud room function from the boathouse entrance.

The boathouse comes equipped with a 10,000-pound boat lift designed for cruisers up to 26 feet, yet may be customised to accommodate a larger watercraft.
Turnkey interior appointments have been orchestrated by acclaimed interior designer Pamela Hughes, whose experience includes some of the most magnificent residences and hotel properties around the world, including Ritz-Carlton hotels, the Inn on Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C., The Mayflower in Washington, DC, and the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia.
