Art Trek Tuesday
Designed for children aged six to 11 years, the class is held from 3.30pm to 5pm at the National Gallery’s Harbour Place location and is free. Children are able to see what is happening in the Gallery’s current exhibits and learn about world cultures through art. Parents are welcome. National Trust member/volunteer/customer appreciation day

From3pm to 6pm visit the National Trust’s visitors centre in Dart Park, South Sound to meet the staff and do some Christmas shopping at the gift shop. Refreshments will be provided and a raffle will be held. For information, call 749-1121.

National Trust Christmas Craft Fair

From 9am to 3pm, the National Trust hosts its Christmas Craft Fair in Dart Park on South Church Street. Stalls will sell locally-made handicrafts and artwork. All are welcome to attend. To reserve a space, the cost is $50 or $65 for inside. Call 749-1121.

Little Cayman Art Lecture Series
Tonight, at 5pm, an art documentary video will be shown at the National Trust Visitors Centre. This session is free of charge. For more details call Simone Scott at 939-5306 or email simones@candw.ky.

Traditional Caymanian cooking class

This month Denise Bodden of the National Trust will demonstrate how to prepare Christmas beef. Included in the cost of the class is the recipe and sample of the completed dish. The cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Call 749-1123 to reserve a space.

CineClub Christmas special: It’s a Wonderful Life
A 1946 dramatic film based on the short story The Greatest Gift written by Phillip Van Doren Stern. The film will run from 6pm to 8pm and is aired at the National Gallery’s Harbour Place location. The Mission House and National Trust Visitors Centre, Bodden Town
This historic site of The National Trust for The Cayman Islands is open year-round and offers guided tours of the house and grounds. 
Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 5.30pm, with the last tour at 4pm. 
Admission to the house is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12. Mission House is located at 63 Gun Square Road, Bodden Town. 
Call 749-1132 for more information or to pre-book tours for groups of more than 10.

The National Trust Visitor’s Centre in Dart Park, South Sound
The Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm and from 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Blue Iguana Safari
Held Mondays through Saturdays at 11am at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park, this one-and-a-half hour guided tour takes visitors behind the scenes at the captive breeding facility. Cost is $24, which includes admission to the Park.

WEDNESDAY
Elderly Artists’ Care House and Kirkconnell Community
Every Wednesday, the Brac’s senior citizens meet up with each other to do some art. On the second and last Wednesday of each month the programme will take place at the Heritage House for those senior citizens wishing to learn or re-learn the art of thatching. Classes are from 10.30am to 12pm and materials and a light lunch are included free of charge. For more details contact Simone Scott at 939-5306 or email simones@candw.ky.

National Trust guided Mastic Trail hike
The hike will start at 8.30am. Hikers will experience a fascinating exploration deep into Cayman’s wild interior, in an area where the woodland has been evolving undisturbed for the last two million years. The area is home to a wide variety of animals and plants unique to the Cayman Islands.

THURSDAY
Historic walking tour of George Town
From 9am on Thursdays, visit a church, graveyard, official buildings, the stepwell and fortification system in the island’s capital to learn a little more about Cayman’s culture. Call Denise at 749-1123. Cost is $15 for members, $20 for non-members.

SATURDAY
National Gallery Cayman Brac Adult Art Group

Each Saturday the National Gallery hosts an informal ‘meet and paint’ adult group for artists at Heritage House Garden in North East Bay, from 9am to 12pm. Free of charge.

ART
My Cayman, the latest exhibit by Cayman Traditional Arts, is now showing at the Ritz-Carlton Gallery
. The exhibit features artists such as Jo Austin, Carley Jackson, Chris Christian, Randy Chollette, Avril Ward, Charles Long and Maureen Lazarus.

Up and Out, a street art exhibit is now showing at the National Gallery in Harbour Place.

On the Front Burner, an exhibit by local artist Debbie Chase van der Bol, is on display at Full of Beans. A portion of the proceeds from the exhibit’s sales will be donated to Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

Alejandro Angel, Jr. is exhibiting his works at Butterfield Place in a show titled “We are only young once…”

Zahir Art Exhibit: at Café Del Sol, Camana Bay. Featuring work by artists Sandra Salangana, Joseph Betty/Gumba. Proceeds from sales of artwork will go towards the Blue Iguana Recovery Programme.

Starvin’ Artists: an exhibit featuring works by local artists including Luis Molina, Jacob Julian, Benton Conolly and Donna Germain, is on show at a new gallery on West Bay Road, next to Mitzi’s Fine Jewellery in Bay Harbour Centre.
